Kat – Phenomenal Worship

Comments, Musings and Thoughts only.

Kat is the founder and primary contributor to Phenomenal Worship. She is a Christian, a writer, a creative, and a worshipper, passionate about exploring the fullness of embodied worship to the LORD. She lends her voice to the intersection of theology, beauty, and phenomenology (birthed out of experience), drawing from her background in architecture and the arts.

Her academic journey began with studying architecture at the University of Cambridge, where she developed a deep appreciation for embodiment – not only in design but also in faith. Her master’s dissertation, [dis]engaged: The Embodied Experience and the Iconic Image, explores the tension in architectural discourse between physical experience and the image-driven modern world we live in – a theme that resonates in her advocacy for embodied worship.

As someone that delights in worship herself, Kat recognises that it is not separated into categories but holistic in devotion: heart, soul, mind, and strength – altogether in response to God’s majesty. Phenomenal Worship was born out of a desire to bridge schismatic gaps: theology and expression, intellect and emotion, tradition and creativity. As a woman of faith and an avid painter, she considers artistic creation a sublime connection with the Creator God and champions the belief that just as art is immersive, so should worship be.

Please note: Kat is not a minister or purporting to teach with authority on these topics, but merely provides comments, musings and thoughts only. She encourages local church attendance and submission to the elders of the church.

Worship is best demonstrated through sound Biblical truth. God made us as living souls and embodied spirits. He is the author of worship, and His Word guides our creative physical expressions, deepening our theological, spiritual, and intellectual devotion. Kat seeks to inspire believers through comments and musings to live a lifestyle of embodied, phenomenal worship. She does so with the heart to encourage believers to pursue God with the totality of our being – without hidden hesitations or divisions, with every fibre of ourselves.

Welcome to Phenomenal Worship!
